Sold 6-lug CUCV rims (5)

Though I'd prefer to sell the set intact, I'm willing to separate them. Greg has already put in for the wheels, though (and I'm assuming that's what you'd want). If you wanted the tires, I'd be all set!

Nope. I have piles of those. I only have one set of M1009 wheels.

I figured as much. Have you seen stock wheels like my K10's wheels? I'm thinking they're cheap aftermarket rims, but I'm not sure. I know they're not what came with this truck originally, as the P.O. swapped with another truck.

One replacement rim added to the set (illustrating what I believe to be the original colors):

You should keep these wheels and put them on that truck. Glass bead them, and paint them white. Would look much better.

Well that's why I want them too, but his rig would look sooooo much better with them.

Don't talk him out of selling them Martin, you're killing my deal :haha:

Well, for reasons of integrity, I'm not going to go back on my offer. I offered them to you, and you may have them (as per our agreement).

But aside from that, this talk (and those threads) is starting to sway my mind. And, more importantly, Wifey's mind. I have for several years thought that my beautiful truck could utilize beautiful wheels. The truck and the wheels used to be equally ugly. Now that Big Blue is more beautiful, the wheels reflect poorly on the truck. I haven't cared enough to do much about it (obviously), but I have been planning on replacing these wheels with a set from a 1999ish cargo van like this one (currently painted the typical grey with chrome hubcaps). Assuming I stay with the white color, they won't paint up as nicely as the CUCV wheels will. My original reason for using the van wheels (better availability of 16" on-road tires) is slight enough that I could be persuaded to stick with the 15" rims...

I am due to retire the front rubber (and perhaps the rims as well) before my next long trip with it. So something will be changing, even if it's switching to cargo-van grey...

If you decide to keep those rims I might cry but I wont cry foul. No hard feelings if you should change your mind and keep them for your truck. I might actually have a set of the Van rims you are looking for, let me check my stash.

Well, I'll think about it for the next month or so (until I run down to Iowa again) and get back to ya. The biggest draw for me in using the CUCV rims would be having a set of the hubcaps to go with them. But I don't have hubcaps for the small pattern (I'm pretty sure that the 8-lug caps won't fit, but I've never tried them). So I'd have to find a set of hubcaps. I wonder if I could find someone around here that collects hubcaps. And then persuade him to sell me a set. ;)

:haha:

I already have the van rims (with some decent little street tires on them). They were running around on the Suburban until I did the 8-lug conversion in July. So using them is free. Which is what prompted me to sell off the CUCV rims in the first place! This thread is getting downright amusing. And circular. :haha:

Bump. After 3 more years I just hafta admit that I'm never actually going to use these. Too many things have changed, and the 8-lug swaps didn't help.

So I'm relisting them. Tires are gone, just the rims remain. @82355 & @Greg Ducato have dibs on them if they're still interested. Martin, I still have the world's nicest hub caps that I can send back your way if you would like. Otherwise they're decorating my wall.

$100 plus shipping for the rims. I have a local Fastenal that has worked in the past, will prolly be cheaper than UPS/FEDEX.
