6 lug dana 60

Front or rear?

Front you can buy new bearing hubs that have a 6 lug pattern. About $199ea.

I met this guy that has a 74 chevy "mudtruck" and he says it has a dana 60 6 lug up front and a 12 bolt rear. It has 38'' gumbo mudders with a 8" lift the body is rough and he says it runs for $500. does it sound like a deal?

I'd double check that front end. Yes, you can do a D60 6 lug conversion, but it's not cheap. Something about a converted 1 ton front end and 1/2 rear smells fishy to me.

Ya, I would bet it is a Dana 44.... Go look at the top of the knuckles. A dana 60 will look like this:

? ? 60 front and 12 bolt rear = not a great combo. front over shadows the little 12 bolt rear.

totaly bet dana 44 front and 12 bolt rear.

even if it 1/2ton, for 500 thats not too bad of a deal if it runs good
