A T56 would be a poor choice. An NV4500 is what you want.

Theres absolutely no question that a Tremec T-56 is just about the poorest choice for a transmission you could think of for a short wheelbase 4wd fullsize truck.


as a matter of fact I have a T56 and a NV4500 in my garage right now. the T56 is going in my Z-28 and the NV4500 belongs in my dually. thats just how it is. ....just let it go. and move on with actual good ideas.

Thanks for all the opinions fellas. As it stands I think after gathering some info about cost and real world mpg numbers, I may be just sticking with the 700. But thanks for all the insight y'all!
 
I was not recommending a t56, I repeat, WAS NOT recommending a t56.

I was simply stating that it would be a better choice than a Doug Nash;)

With that said, I personally would not want either in a 4x4 truck... or probably any full size truck. An nv4500, yes please :D
