Hey y'all,

I know I'm a suspicious character, but . . .

I ordered new 60G's off ebay, they came in 60G boxes, but . . . seems to me when I ordered 60G's for our van a while back they had 60G stamped on the plug itself. My 9G's that I pulled were stamped 9G.

These have AC DELCO 439 on top and underneath that 0 100 271 107 10.5V

Couldn't find the info googling--do I have the right plugs or should I set up a fuss with the seller? Thanks . . . .

Not sure on the numbers...

Are you going to run a manual controller for the GP's? I've had the 60G's, and the autolite equivalent which are the 1110's and both are decent...but take quite a while to get hot enough. They're markedly slower than the 9G's and 11G's, so unless you have manual control or have modified the glow plug controller they don't get hot enough for easy starts.

I have Kennedy's "Quick Heats" in my '83 and they do work fine with the stock controller. They are also self limiting and don't swell...but go from cold to full glow in less than 5 seconds (60G's often take double that time)

Yep, because it's the 82 with the separate solenoid, I'm going to be eliminating the controller altogether. I had the blinking glow light problem as well, with the glows getting power intermittently while driving, so just using the solenoid with a dash mounted switch and the normal light. Should be easier on my batteries too . . .

Well, I went ahead and pulled one of the plugs in our van, which I know are 60G's, and they have the same numbers as mine, so it's all good :D
