Are the 2wd springs the same as the 4x4 springs?

The only differance in the springs is the rate. they all are 64", not 63" and the spring eyes are centered

A little shorter spring height on the 99 and ups, the best I can tell. 2wd's sit a little lower than the 4wd's, but not by much. There's probably a million different payload capacities, so probably a bunch of different spring rates.

Dunno if that answers your question or not.

I ran 63" springs on my K5 with a shackle flip and belltech shackles for the past 2 years. They worked better than expected exept for the axle wrap.
If I were to do it again, I would build a torque rod.

As for the spring packs, I started with a set of springs out of a 98 1/2 ton 4wd (4 springs) when I pulled them out this year I was up to 10 springs per side. I had to add as time went because of the flex and stess that was put on them. They were still plenty flexy just a lot heavyer when I pulled them out.:D

Hope this helps a bit.

im running a 87 short box truck so with my shackle flip would I have to use a zero rate with the 63 inch springs, I also have the 6 inch shackles.

64's require more fab work if u want to keep the axle at or close to the stock location

Well does any one know if running a set of 56 inch springs with the 30 inch from end to pin to the front,if that would center the axle in the wheel well. I am running a 4 inch shackle flip from diy4x with a 6 inch shackle.

doesnt dropping the spring down with the shackle flip move the axle forward, since you are changing the bolting location in the rear 8 inchs down from stock? it looks like it rolled my 52 center pin forward.

i dont believe so, i could be wrong, but it moves the axle forward more when you droop, and tilt the pinion up as well.

Would be pretty close (within a 1" or so) BUT the best way to find out is just mock it in there and see where it is at ride hight and adjust as needed. Worked for me. Didn't take much time either.
Hope that helps a bit

Yes, about an inch or so.

so using a 56 inch spring, with the 26 inch to pin in th front with a zero rate would center it.
