I just got done doing 64" spring swap in my 1983 K5. I'm running 5" lift 88-98 1/2 ton springs from Tuff Country. I got them really cheap brand new from another guys project he never finished. I cut up my front hanger and boxed it all in and welded to the frame right up against the cab mount and as high as I could go and still get the spring eye bolt in. T&A Automotive offers a bolt on front hanger for K5s to do 64" swap now. I was going to do T&A Automotive's no lift shackle flip in the rear but I ran into Stephen from ORD at Jeep safari vendor show and he advised on standard tension shackle but go longer to get the truck lower and also allow more shackle swing than a shackle flip. I ended up moving the stock rear hanger back to where it looked good and welded it to the frame. I used a 6" ORD heavy duty shackle with greaseable bushings all around on rear. I also added a 1.5" block just because I currently have 6" lift on the front. I will probably remove the block after I do a 52" front spring swap in the future. I'm running a 14 bff and it clears stock gas tank setup and sits about 2" rear of where it should so I had to trim my fenders. I'm running 315/75r16 bfg tires on 16x7 steel wheels for now until I do weld on beadlocks and I can stuff them all the way to almost touch inner fender. I still need to do bumpstops and rear shocks but I currently have only test drove it and I get 10" of rear travel with clamps still on the springs. 5" up and 5" down. I will prob need a traction bar but I have a gutless 6.2L diesel. Hope this helps.
