If anyone has a lead on a good one, let me know. I’m after a 2 door (non-post) or a 4 door wagon. Not looking for a rust bucket project and certainly don’t have the funds for show ready. Gotta be 66/67, engine or not, if it’s got an engine I’ll try to drive it home which helps.

Kinda the car I’ve landed on the replace the ‘68 C10 I had. It all depends on the shape it’s in and cost… of course. :D

Still thinking it over but is there any members in the Benicia/Napa CA area? @imiceman44 is over an hour away. Considering a ‘65 in the area.

My nephew is in that area somewhere. I will find out because my memory for that stuff sucks.

edit:

He is in Livermore. Hates going into the city, but I can ask.

if he's in Livermore he would avoid the city going to Benicia.

What do you guys think? I’m not a fan of the paint on top but he’s got blue paint to at least make more. I don’t like the exhaust tips either, but that stuff is simple. Interior has gotta be nice and underside pristine. It was just posted. If it’s meant to be maybe the price will drop cause I don’t have $24k :(

It is a sweet ride, seems well done. I don't care for the exhaust exit/tips. I leave the paint thou. I bet it looks way bitchin' in person.
Only I wonder more about the front suspension mods and the disc brakes. Granted I sold my last Chevy II 30 um some years ago, but I had 6 of them, the last one did 11.91 pass at Palmdale raceway. The disc brake conversion was not an easy thing. Plate caliper bracket, on original drum spindle, special bearings to match rotor to spindle.
The coil over upper control arm, and the weak lower mounting bolt hole. Globle West back in the day, had a fix for the oem style. Today is the Mustang II front with rack and pinion, which if I had done to my Chev II I certainly would put in add. I don't know if the waggies had a frame or were unibodies like the sedans, something look at.

Unibody like the sedans/coupes.
Really considering a pair of TCI subframes. Just get it over with. I’m staying far away from CPP products this go around. Anything else has got to be better.

I’d rather have the unfinished and money to make it right
I’ll second the idea of redoing the front steering. Working the oil pan around the steering is dumb

The tie rod on those runs idler behind and puts the drag link across where an oil pan goes.

1- Not sure what year that changed. Early was an issue
2- an LS engine may fit differently also due to the pan. Probably worth knowing before going down the rabbit hole

Oh I forgot, I have a used oem Chevy II oil pan, pic up, pump and drive rod. Also a 64 grill is nice but not perfect.
When I had mine nobody was repoping any parts specific to a chey II, few parts I kept for whatever reason.

This one is closer to me, still a 2-3 hour drive. Price is easier to swallow. But does the blue one bring a better value at $12k more? You know…at face value. Certainly a more finished car.
I personally would go with this one because you can make it your way from the start and you can start with your budget and go as fast as you can afford

That’s my fear too, though there is a small shot of it from the back. I reached out and he said there is someone coming today to pick it up. (Grey one) We’ll see. Not worried. I also have this one closer I plan to look at Sunday. Not really the condition I want or year, but I can check it out. It’s actually along my drive so easy to stop and look… if they reply.

Also, this will not be getting an LS. It is tempting since I can get a whole running truck right now for $2000. But long term goal is a 2.3 Ecoboost, not sure manual or auto. I think that would keep the car lighter and just be dope.

That one looks promising, even if it's the wrong year.
I am partial to the 66 as well.
That teeny tiny air cleaner has to go.

There's a 64-65 wagon that has sat behind a house since I was in high school a few streets over from me. I know for a fact it was a 283 4-speed car. Within the last 10 years the driver side fender has been removed. But the car itself hasn't moved. Attempts have been made to acquire and shot down every time.
