Well, I was heading around to some local shops to search up info for torque specs on an 04 8.1L I am building. Which by the way, the way its done for torque is basically retarded. I mean, the mains for example, are 32ft lbs then 90 degrees past that. Stupid. Anyways, I walk in, and there sat an all original GT500. Big block 4 speed and everything. 35000 miles on it, 100% perfect condition. Original tires, wheels, and everything. It was getting its first tune up. :eek1: So the guys let me sit behind the wheel, and fire it up. Man, I probably almost poked the windshield out of that car, they asked if I wanted to back it out of the shop, and I was like.......... No, I would have to pawn my house to put a mirror or door on that thing. But for those who have never seen an unmolested one, or any unmolested muscle car from that great era, its amazing.

And btw, to change the plugs on that motor, would require black magic, a sacrificial chicken, virgins blood, and probably King Aurthurs sword.

Wish I had pics of it, phone is broken of course, but I couldnt post them anyways as Im to lazy to update my membership, but just wanted to say that, and I may be drinking.

fyi tourqe to yeild bolts are 1 time use . so dont reuse them .

any bolt that is turned a specific deg* is a tourqe to yeald .

My uncle owns 3 of them along with a 72 mach I boss 351W that only had a production of like just under 1500 cars.

My buddy's dad once offered to let me move his low mileage '71 Buick GSX. I about wet myself and then decided I'd better not.

I've driven a couple pretty cool cars... one bud had a 70 Hurst Olds, another a 70 LS6 Chevelle I used to borrow all the time...

never been a stang or Ford fan, not crazy about any of the mills, but more importantly, I don't dig the 60's sheetmetal... my bud had a 66, tho the lines aren't horrible, I thought the mechanical side of the car was ghey poop...

now, a 70 Mach 1 shape, I kinda dig...

Yea, everything is torque to yield on this motor. Pointless and a waste. But luckily the bolts are cheap. ARP wants 500$ for head studs. :eek1: But its almost coming together now. Just need a decent weekend where I dont have my kids to slap it in and see how it runs.

Strange, I am not a fan of Stangs, or Ford even. But I think the 67-69 Stangs are some of the best looking cars ever built. Now nothing in my mind touches a 70 white Challenger. Vanishing point for example. But Mopar cars have always been in my mind much sexier than any GM or Ford cars, but the cost to own/rebuild/touch/look at them is astronomical. So I stick to good ol common GM vehicles.

I'm a Cuda guy, but I've had a couple Challengers too.. Dusters, etc.. Mopars had the best lines imo, but GM has it's good offerings too..

I remember the day I decided to switch to Chevy (King of the Junkyard :pimp:) and whether I was gonna build Chevelles or Camaro's...

I proceded to build 4 Chevelles... :haha:

Nash Bridges! Loved that Cuda and loved that show. First car to hit a million if memory serves.

I love Chevelles, Camaros, Novas, Stangs, but so does everyone else. I mean, now some of the rare stuff is sweeeeeeeeeet. COPO and Yenko and the like. But its just the commonness of them kinda turns me off. NOw I do really like the 69 Firebirds, and I havent seen millions of them at shows.

I have a 1958 Impala. First year of it actually. Had the original 348 BB in it with triple 2 barrels on it, but some kid way back when wrecked it and put a small block in it. Plates said last drove in 62. Got it for 50$ cash. Its a 2 door hardtop coupe. Pretty sweet car, ugly as road kill, but I have only seen a small handful of them. My dad went to Barrett Jackson and seen one go for 145000$. Its my next project after I figure out what to do with my Burb and some sort of motor for the Impala. I would love a 348/409, but they are not exactly as common as a small block.

as Zim will testify to, I' prefer the hardtop 70 Cuda, best sheetmetal eva imo...ya need the qrter sails...
