68 camaro edit: EDIT BIG UPDATE!!!!!

sweet dude, goo luck with the build. I've shifted gears from the S10 to my Dad's 69 Firebird. Can't wait to get to work on it. Gathering parts for the 5.3L engine swap :)

Bowtie in a Pancho?!?!?!? PLEASE don't. If you want efi stick an Edelbrock on top of a 400 but don't mess with the purity of a Pontiac.

sorry it is happening. Pontiac motors are just a joke in my eyes unless you spend a boatload on them. They can be sweet powerful engines, but I'd be spending $10K for a good fuel injected engine, and that wouldn't even be as stout as I'd like.

Like I said, Gen III small blocks came in Pontiacs, so screw it, it works for me. Its that or Dad is throwing in his Gen I 353 alcohol motor, so I think the Gen III is a better choice.

Damn your lucky Shawn a car like that up here...well to be honest ive never seen a rust free one that wasnt completely restored

Grats! It looks like you got a great deal. I picked up my 69 about 8 years ago and I love it just as much as the day I bought it. You won't regret it! If you haven't already, be sure to check out www.Camaros.net. There is a lot of great information over there.

Great score on the 68, keep us updated with progress pix.

I bought a 67 about 12 years ago in rougher shape than that, 6 banger 3 on the tree... she's a crate 350 and B&W Super t10 now. She's parked for now awaiting the day I can dedicate some real coin to body work and such.

I bailed on it and it has a new owner, I dont have time for remodeling/fixing up a house, building the buggy and building the 07

so now I'm saving up for a new one and plan is for a black on black with gost hockey stripes like the ss my dads has. Ill order it with the buggest motor I can and then remove the motor and squeeze more out of her. I would rather save for 2 years and buy one.

I dont have the patience right now or the time and thats what it would take to build one.

I was wondering about the new Camaro and the LeMans post you made when I saw this. Too bad on both counts but I know what you mean on the time thing.:wink1:
