Any ideas for a modern brake update/upgrade for 2WD trucks with front drum brakes, specifically a '69 C/10? I know the common answer is to use parts from a '73, but it seems kind of pointless to update by 4 years when there are better and lighter options out there.
I'm thinking of staying 6 lug since the new GM 2WD trucks have gone back to the 6 on 5.5" pattern. Then all I have to do is swap in a a complete rear end to match the front.
I'm good with up to a 17" wheel and I have not ruled out going 5 lug. As long as I end up with 4 wheel discs using off the shelf parts I'll be happy.
