I have a 1969 K-5, I know the total production numbers, but mine has factory air. I figure that had to be a rare option. How would I go about checking on the options?

Thank you, Eric

On the 1st Gens..... EVERYTHING was an option.

Passenger seat
Rear seat
Hardtop
A/C
Etc.

Remember, in 1969 there was no such thing as the "SUV market". These were farm trucks and were very stripped down models to meet that need.

Total production in 1969 was less than 5000 total. Pretty low, but certainly not "rare"....

yes, everything was an option. If I am correct, Chevrolet was trying to oust Jeep from the military scene with the introduction of the Blazer. My main question was how many had air? I don't see many 69's for sale at all, and I'm not sure I've seen one with air. I am certain there are others, I'm just curious to how many.

Nobody knows....

It's not like there is a 1969 Blazer Registry where all of the trucks were lovingly, and carefully documented as they were built. For that reason, it's just as likely that any 1969 Blazer you find with air conditioning COULD be 100% original, or possibly added by someone in the last 45 years to make it "look factory"... only the glovebox door will tell you for sure.

Regardless, the factory air was a big, ugly system that doesn't even work that well by modern standards. I doubt it adds much "value" to the truck if that's what you're trying to figure out.

BTW -> It's kind of a rule around here...... if you are new to the site, you are supposed to post up pics of your truck!:waytogo:

So just an observation having nothing to do with actual numbers. Every 69 blazer I have seen has had air. I have never seen a 70 or 71 with air and the 72s are about half and half. But thats only guys I have known so about 20 or so first gens

this isnt a big ugly system hanging under the dash. It's like an "air cab" in the truck world. In dash vents and controls.
Greg72, that's what I was wondering, was there a place that had those things listed.
I appreciate you all responding, I enjoy talking about these great vehicles!

. In dash vents and controls.

Don't think that this was an option either, unless someone added them. Sure it's a 69?

How is the gas pedal and rear view mirror mounted?

Edit: Figured I put this in. 4935 69's made

The easiest way to post pics is to user your favorite photo sharing service, such as photobucket, and then click the insert image icon above the reply text box and put in the URL to your image.

Its a 69 according to the VIN. Rear view mounted on windshield frame.

That's where it should be for a 69. I'd like to see the pics for the dash vents.....or just any pics..lol

Just as a side note, that number is only for 4WD Blazers and does not include 2WD Blazers or the GMC Jimmy.

They did not make 2wd's or Jimmy's in 69.

That's sweet looking! Not sure if you said elsewhere, but what are your plans for it? Any lift or other upgrades? Also what engine do you have?
