Okay, I may have a good chance to get a totalled 03 or 04 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 for fairly cheap. The other day I noticed my 700r is starting to slip shifting from second to third if I'm on the gas hard. So I'm thinking of a swap. I have heard of people on here do this but couldn't find the posts for it. I would be doing a complete swap of the 6liter and I believe 460le(tranny it think) into my 85K. Id be able to use everting from the wrecked truck comuter, wire harness, sensor, exc...

I have been tolled that you need to switch over the foot pedal? not sure if thats true or not.
I have an eltric fuel pump on it now(Holley tbi 350). Would I be able to keep that on there or would I have to rig up something for the 6L's EFI?
And my final question and the one im really conserned about is the transfer case. I have a np208 and have be told it will bolt up to the 460le tranny, but am not sure. Or will I need to find a passenger drop np241 to put in there.

(I'm mainly doing this swap because I know my 700r is going out. May not be soon but going out. And I would like the fuel economy of the 6liter. Not to much into the power. But would it be better to just rebuild the 700r or do the swap and worry about dealing with all the EFI problems. $1800 rebuild 700r or about $3500 for the swap out)

Someone to talk to is Ryan B. He did a nice lq9 swap in his '72 blazer. I mention him because I chatted with him about it and am planning on swapping come April. You can find him on NorCalBigDawgs.net too. He knows all about it, but I am sure others are well informed swappers too. 1979jimmy350 a cool swap with a sm465 here http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=249014
