I never knew they make that low of gears for 1 ton axles. Anyone know of any info on that low of gears.Is 7.17 going to be strong enough in our "small axles". Post your ideas , just trying to see what u guys think.

R72K5 said:there was a 6.17 for the eaton H110 axles(11,000lb axle), was an optional and low numbers available axle for the 72 older c-30's(over the standard and common H072 axles)
and is probably in a ton of the old c50 and/or c-60's
maybe the 7.17 is actually the 6.17

4000rpm at 57mph with 265 75 r16s (31.6")
I have scoured the internet trying to figure out how... front axle is a dana 60 truvk was originally 4.56 but has obviously been regears stupid.
Rear axle has 14 bolts too.
