pretty sure thats right. its fresh. just checked it and its really high. just got home. would to much atf shorten the life?

thanks

that trans should take 11-13 qts if its empty, with an empty torque convertor.

should take more than that just to fill the pan after a oil change.the pan holds 6 quarts if stock.add anether 3 to 5 to fill the converter depending on size and type.

its a stock m1009. just put the 400 in. works good. thought it would be good to drop the pan and put a new filter and fluid in. time was a short. let someone else do it, guess he messed up. damn it

Are you checking the fluid when it's hot or cold? Trans fluid needs to be checked hot and on level ground. If it's overfull then you need to remove some fluid or it can airate and screw up the trans. You can either drop the pan and get fluid all over yourself or get a suction pump and go down the dipstick tube and suck some out.

i will be dropping the pan. looks like it didnt seal right anyway. its leaking. did check it hot
