depends how bad the threads are in the tierod, my had a couple bad ones down inside and i took and old tie rod end and ground a line/groove or flute in it and then took a thread file and filed the treads back tot normal and basically rethreaded the part that was messed up. hope this helps.
The threads aren't messed up ,I need to tap my rockrod after I shorten it for high steer, has brackets for hydro assist welded on the end with R/H threads, that I would rather not remove.
