So, I ordered a 7 pin dip switch to solder into my DRAC to recalibrate the speedometer for 35 inch tires. I understand this will also now send correct info for the antilock brakes on my 1990 K5.

Anyhow, I thought $15 was a little high for one switch but not bad compared to an hour of my time and a few gallons of gas to make the trip to town to try and find one.

Well, the little package finally arrived from China or wherever and they sent me 50 of them. I have not gotten around to the install yet, but I understand it is pretty straight forward with the difficult part being removal of the old solder and caution not to use to much heat and melt something else.

Anybody need a few 7 pin DIP switches? Seems like a shame to toss the extras after they traveled half way around the world.

Yeah, the minimum order when I goe them was 20. I ended up just moving the soldered wires around.

I think what I'll do is get a used DRAC from the junkyard and then have the dip switch solder on by a electrical shop that does this kind of thing.

he is sending me a few of the switches .

if you want pm me and i can do the swap for ya on the switch. i got all the tools and have done a few before for members.

Here is another source. Minimum order is 1.

Of course with shipping you still end up paying $15.

SweetK30, the switches went out to you in yesterday's mail. I will send you my DRAC later, when I can be without the truck for a few days.

and pm me first as i will be moving within the next month. so will prob be diffrent address.

a good weller soldering iron and a solder sucker.

That is what I used as well. You could probably get by without a solder sucker, but it sure makes things easier.

You'll need a soldering iron like this:
