I just got a 70 Chevy CST/C30 1 ton dually 4x4 camper, and wanted to know if there is a way to determine the value of it? It has the factory 396 BBC, 4 speed trans, divorced spicer 23 t-case on 133 WB. It has the factory tach dash, AC, cruise control, PTO winch, 4.56 gears, Napco 4x4 front end, intermittent wiper delay, air ride seat, etc. It has 37,591 original miles on it.

I'd call it priceless!...it HAS to be one of one!...never seen a Napco axle under anything later than a '66 GM truck before, and not in a 1 ton either..

Factory tach dash is worth a few hundred alone, the 4 speed, rare Spicer transfer case (I assume its divorced?),and a factory big block, along with all the other options, all add up to a collectors wet dream,IMO--..:eek1:

I'd never part with that if I owned it!..

No idea what it's worth, but I just clicked on the link to look at it again. Needs to be in a pic with Chalet.

Just noticed the hand throttle. So much cool stuff to take in.

Wish I could help you on value, but I have no idea. It's cool as hell though. Tons of awesome options that I wish I had too.

I'm guessing that the actual value as a whole would be disappointing unless you found just the right buyer, even though a lot of us think it's damn cool.

I'm actually contemplating taking the camper section of the pickup and making it a 1 ton 4x4 pickup. I have the back wall section to weld in and just need to find a rear window and seal. Then I have a nice 10' flat bed that I'm thinking of installing on it.

I was thinking of trying to trade the whole thing for a 68-72 Chevy 4x4 pickup in comparable shape with some of the same options.

I would love to see how they did the drw hubs on the front way back then being napco 4x4 front axle.

oh ya DONT CUT IT UP PLEASE ! ! !

I think it has the Cheyenne interior package too,my '72 K5 had similar (but different) door panels as this truck, with the "scroll" and woodgrained inserts---

---when its doors were stolen back in '84,all they could find locally was some decent pickup doors, and only ONE GM dealer somewhere in OK had the last Cheyenne door panel for the passenger side left in existance ,when I had the truck fixed at a body shop--they had to lop off the window frames and back then, trying to find the rubbers that go on the door post was about impossible..

I'll second the notion that altering this from its original "build" would be a sin!..

The only other GM factory camper similar to this one I have seen was owned by a guy who set up to sell stuff at a swap meet in NH we were set up next too--he sold old auto sales brochures..had a '66 GMC C-30 with the camper made right to the cab so it was a "walk thru",it had a factory 427 big block ,A/C with a SM420 trans, dual rear wheels, with tall tires,I think they were 17.5" rims too...I thought it was the coolest "motor home" ever!..

Wifey wants. We're thinking that your life may be in danger if you chop that up... :eek1:

I'd bet there are members on here that would gladly facilitate the swap to a similar-era pickup truck. It's at least worth a shot...

Excellent find, though!

More pictures?

This is a Custom Sport Truck package camper.

The camper section needs to be cleaned, but my friend said everything works even the propane light on the wall. This is the only section that needs fixed, but I don't see any water damage, just the vinyl covering on the ceiling and the veneer board

If anyone is interested in trading me a 68-72 4x4 pickup that is in comparable shape and value, let me know.

I don't want to outright sell it, but I will trade it for a decent like shape 68-72 Chevy 4x4 pickup that runs really good with a 4 speed trans, or an auto trans if it's been rebuilt.

The camper might be going to a good home tomorrow. My friend that I've known for over 30 yrs now, wants it for the weekend camping, hunting, or fishing trips to the mtns instead of dragging his 40' Toyhauler trailer.

He's had a 72 Chevy Custom 10 longbox 4x4 pickup for over 20 years that has a fresh performance built 350, new clutch, 4 speed trans, 3.73 gears, with a 4" lift and 36" Irok Super Swamper tires, and wants to trade it for the camper.

good to hear! It really is a sweet one of a kind vehicle.
