70 K5 gear ratios

Hi All,

I have a 70 k5 and I put an NV 4500 5 speed in last summer. The gearing is a bit tall. 1st 2nd are pretty good and 3rd,4th are ok too, but 5th is way too tall. I have a stock 350 in also but planning on installing a 450 hp 383 stroker in next month. anyone know what the best gear ration set up will be best?
( Has 35” tires)

With that kind of torque, you may want to drive it and decide. What gear do you have now?

4.56 or 4.88 you'll be in the low to mid 2k rpm range at highway speeds. You won't need the granny unless you pulling stumps or crawling
