70 K5 needs EFI fuel tank capable of ethanol

This is not a cheap build by any means but im having a hard time spending close to $1000 for a Boyds tank and about the same for a nice radiator and e fans.
Looking for an EFI fuel tank, larger is better, a 20 gallon tank will get this ride to the next gas station, lol. Needs to be ethanol capable.
What have you done to modify a 1 gen Blazer fuel tank for EFI?
Im considering a stock tank with a modified baffle from Tanks Inc.
I tried a 91 Blazer tank and it is too long, it ends over the rear diff and would be smashed. There is only 2.5" to move the rear crossmember and need a minimum of 5" for the 91 tank.
I dont mind spending money on this project, it is not low budget by any means, but it needs to be spent wisely because I was not born a trust fund kid, lol. There are plenty of places to spend the saved funds.
 
Holley makes their "Dynamat"(?) which you can use in a stock tank IIRC.

Difficulty is figuring out the sending unit part. I know they have options for that too.

No idea if this is more cost effective than other options.
 
I modified the stock fuel sender to add a return line and have been using an external pump for 10 years. No baffle in the tank. Has been fine. Don’t overthink it.

My 2000 suburban chugs when the tank is low, but the K5 is fine.
 
When you say ethanol, are you talking about E100?!? or are you just talking about normal blends? With EFI solutions, I only run OEM fuel modules. Modern jet pumps are more dependable than any aftermarket solution. Go to Vaporworx.com and purchase a stainless mounting ring. Drill out your hole to 6-3/8". TIG weld the ring and then you can run all kinds of options. We just finished swapping the fuel pump solution on my wife's FJ62 with a 5.3/6L80. My '78 runs the same setup. I've actually used the same Delphi FG0341 pump setup in three different vehicles. A friend of mine out in Mesa, AZ got me onto this about 5 years back. He got tired of failures on HRPT events. Jet pumps are the only way to go if you want dependable.
 
KBS makes a coating you can apply to the inside of the stock tank that wont degrade with ethanol. I did this on my 76 k5 and installed a vetteworks ring with stock-style GM pump/ sending unit. The guy at vetteworks knew the correct part number for the pump when I called! I have done the same thing on my second gen F-body as well.
 
I've never had an issue with Ethanol and factory tanks. Ran E98 in my old race car no issues. Run E85 in my Audi S6. No issues. The only issue I had was non approved fuel lines for E85. Even with steel braided rubber lines. I had to use steel braided PTFE lines. Most factory fuel lines these days are E85 approved since most stations use E10 or the car has a flex fuel option. I wouldn't worry about the tank. It doesn't eat through the metal.

Did you end up finding a reasonable option. I need the exact same thing for a 70 Jimmy build. Appreciate an update if you have one
