Hello all. I just completed a transmission install in my 1991 Jimmy. Its a 700R4. After filling with fluid I got in and cycled it through all the gears, when I hit reverse I could hear fluid bubbling out I put it back in park to get out and inspect and it stopped. I climbed underneath and have decided the fluid is coming out from the vent on top of the transmission. I installed new cooler lines at install, and was fluid level was good when I got into the truck. The tranny is a rebuillt 0 miles on it. Thanks for your help

How well do you think you flushed the cooler. If the old trans had a literal meldown and lots of metal in the pan you better believe its in the cooler and lines, which may now be plugged.

Sounds like it may have been overfilled. it is best to fill this a couple quarts at a time with the truck in gear, then put into park and recheck till you get to just under the full mark. Test drive and check again when you are done.
