i have a 87 gmc jimmy with the stock tbi 350 and 700-r4 along with the np208 t-case and 10 bolts with 4.11's and rear limited slip, i have also put on a 4'' rough country lift kit and 36'' super swamper tsl/sx's.

I have heard of the np241 case having excellent low range and can have the slip yoke eliminated. My question is, does this t-case have any advantages over my 208?
Thanks,
Caleb

It has the same low range as your 208. The advantage is that you can SYE it. IF you get one, make sure it has a mechanical speedo on it, 1989 I belive.

The 241 is a slighty better t-case as it has an oil pump in it unlike the 208, rumor has it that the 241 has a larger chain and it is 2.72:1 rather the 2.62:1 that the 208 has. Yes you can easily SYE the 241.

Actually the 241 has a slightly better lowrange (2.72 vs. 2.61) then your 208 and you can get a SYE kit for the 241. The 241 is a slightly better case then the 208 but unless you need the SYE right now or the 208 is busted then I would leave the 208 alone until you need to swap it.

In stock form the 241 is a direct replacement for a 208. Like Harley said, it isn't a justifiable swap unless your 208 is broke or you need the SYE.
