does anyone think that a factory gm trans is better than a built one other
than warranty trying to decide if i want a gm 700 or get one built

I bought a GM reman for mine for a couple reasons.

1 I work at the dealership so it will pay me to make warranty repairs on my own truck.

2 Find another rebuild with hundred thousand mile nation wide warranty.

Just my .02

yeah i work at a gm dealership also just wondering if the factory one is strong enough for off road abuse

The GM one is good. Prolly the best for stock replacement.
These 700R4s are very good www.700r4.com they stand behind their work and have awesome tech help. Great trannys if you plan to build your engine.
Not sure about those Raptor trannys. there have been people here and on other boards I go on that have had trouble with them and had problems with warentee.

well i like gm but i have gone through 4 700r4s in the last few years i had 2 rebuilt by gm and both craped out on me the 1st one set my blazer on fire then they fixed it, 2nd about 6000miles, 3rd about the same then i orderd the raptor kit and did it myself its been going about 2 years but just picked up a TH400 to build ,but thats my thoughts on the 700.
