700r tranny question, odd leak

Was monkeying around under my K5 this weekend, noticed some red fluid. Its on the drivers side where the shifter linkage actually goes into the Tranny housing. Its not dripping but there is some fluid around this area.

Is this a common leak area?

Any quick and easy way to fix this? I know nothing about transmissions and have never worked on b4.

This is in a 1984 K5, tranny 700r.

Not super common but a leak there(manual lever seal) but they leak regularly enough. You can change the seal easily if you have the seal puller tool(10 min job) Ive replaced several dozens, but with the tool. If you dont have the tool hold tight, im sure another method besides pulling the rooster comb will come up .
