700r tranny

what year was this introduced to the K5? Im shopping for a blazer and and want that trans in it. Itll be my everyday driver and Ill put about 100 miles a day on in five days a week. Ill also take it out in desert I live in but wont do any rock crawling, just dirt and sand stuff. maybe out to pizmo beach or glamis every now and then.

The early ones are kind of problematic (I have had some good luck with them though), 1987 and newer are much better. If you were to go 1987+, you would also get factory EFI.

thanks! From what Id searched for I kinda guessed it was the later 80's that it came in. Im hoping to pick up an 89 locally pretty soon! Good stuff with those links too!!!
