700r4 case

A friend and I rebuilt one of my 700r4's a few years ago, and when we were checking out the case we found that the aluminum around 1 or maybe 2 of the check balls is a little chewed up from the check ball. I think we cleaned the area around the ball up a little bit but I cant remember, whatever it was 5 years ago. My question is, would this case still be usable or is it wasted from that.

Just clean up the check ball areas in the case so no fragments can break off and it should be good to go. The check balls just sit in the case till the fluid fills the passage under pressure and seats the check ball against the seperator plate.
