700R4 dipstick

Ok so I am having a stupid problem. I reinstalled my 700R4 and transfer case after rebuilding it, but now I can figure out how to get the dipstick to the tranny. Do I go from the bottom up? Top down? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is driving me nuts.

if I remember right, you just go down on the tranny, stick it in, oils may be required for insertion, and bolt it to the block near the rearest exhaust manifold

those can be a real bitch sometimes, I think top down always worked best for me when I was killing the 700r4's.

MAKE SURE IT SEATS CORRECTLY IN THE SEAL! I had one dipstick push the seal into the pan when I was rushing and didnt notice. it burned up that transmission.

The tube goes in from under the truck pretty easy compared to going in from the top.

really, you could use wd40 to put it in, that stuff drys pretty well and wont hinder sealing or staying in place
