Background Info - Building a 1989 700R4 for a 1/2 ton pickup. Plan on daily driving, occasional towing up to 3500 lbs. and moderate trails.
A number 74 washer is giving me .006" end play. The ATSG manual says no less than .015" or it could bind when things heat up. I hate to disregard the ATSG manual, but some other sources are telling me .005 to .010 works best. Any tranny builders here that can set me straight?
