700r4 extra gear

O.K. Let me explain.I have driven many vehicles with the 700r4,but mine seems to be different.It's in an 84 Blazer,been rebuilt,transgo shift kit.If I put it in drive the transmission shifts through four gears.(light throttle) 1-2 15mph.2-3 25mph.3-4 35mph.,and I still have,nt shifted into overdrive.This is 5 forward gears I'm counting.Now in other vehicles I don't get the 3-4 at35mph shift.What gives?

Maybe you are feeling the converter lockin up.

why would'nt I feel this on others.It's sudden positive shift?

The converter lock up on mine is very noticeable sometimes. It does feel like a gear change under the right circumstances.

As the converter "unlocks" it's speed changes. When it locks again with full pressure, your shift kits modifications to the fluid flow make it more noticable.
