OK, my 90 has been slipping going into 3rd for a while now. Tonight I was getting on it when it shifted into 2nd which felt like neutral. Now I have no forward or reverse gears. I know the problems with a 700R4, but can one be built to last? What parts are needed for it to live?

I have a set of 1 tons and am planning on 37's. The tons have 4.56's in them and were removed from a military ambulance. Am I fighting a loosing battle with the 700?

I've been beating on my built 700R4 for about 7 years or so now. My buddy installed The Beast sunshell, all Kevlar clutches and he does his own "shift kit". Those are just the basics of what I know went into mine. He did install a Corvette servo also. One of the biggest things to keeping a 700R4 alive is a LARGE stacked plate cooler.
