Can i put a 700r4 in my 72 blazer without to many issues? use the np208 transfer case? i would be using the dana 44 and 12 bolt rears that are in it.
Just wondering cause im gona make the 72 my cruser and the 89 the bruser!:haha: sorry couldnt help myself:o
tried it in first gen forum no luck so now its here.

No real big issues, mostly a bolt in deal. If you can a tall adapter from a early 80s truck or blaze you'll be able to reuse your stock crossmember but you'll have to move it back about two inches. Make sure your TV cable is installed correctly and adjusted properly, the 350 kick down brackets are usually close enough if adjusted right. Transfer case shifter may have to be fabbed if the adapter doesn't have a shifter boss on it.

The only issues you may have would be rear driveline vibrations depending on what the driveline angle ends up being. Worse comes to worse then have a C.V driveline made for your slip yoke setup. Or better yet get a Dodge case and eliminate the slip yoke.

BobK has a 700R4 in his 1st Gen....

Might be worth a search to find his posts or just PM him directly.

I also have a 700r4-241 setup in my first gen so I can answer any questions you may have.:D
