Took the blazer for another dune romp today, she held up great, except when I got back to eat I put it in park and it rolled forward. I haven’t had a chance to check the linkage but what could cause a park pawl to not engage. I still have all gears, just no park. @Greg Ducato or any other trans guys?

Have you tried to move the shifter by hand to see if it clicks into park? If it will move into park by hand then it's probably a stretched cable.

The park pawl could be loose or damaged but usually that will bring some noise inside the transmission meaning complete failure.

Stock linkage so no cable stretch. The bushing is shot on the frame so it’s probably not even there after the dunes.

Id check the linkage first. When this happened to my rig, i found a tweaked frame. The frame moved over a little bit, just enough to reclock my linkage and not engage park.

If all other gears select correctly, the linkage is probably OK (at least close), but you should disconnect it from the the tranny to see if it can turn a little further. It's also possible for the park linkage bolts to back out of the transmission housing, which happened to me once (in the dunes actually). This is easy to spot once you drop the pan. Beyond that, there are serious problems that can cause this. A messed up pawl or linkage can be easily swapped out, but if the output shaft is stripped, the whole transmission has to come apart to swap that.

Well pretty sure it’s the linkage, as I went to start it in what should be park, and it started backing up. The bushing on the frame is now 100% gone so that’s probably my issue. I’ll be purchasing a b&m or art Carr for it, as long as park still works.
