700r4 problem!!

hey guys so she finally blew up something haha needless to say im fully rebuilding her fully with a TCI Maximizer kit BUT the only issue is that somehow the transmission is over pressurizing and pumping fluid out the output shaft / pump housing anybody have any idea what might cause this?? possible valve body damage???

Sounds like a couple bad seals... those transmissions operate at around 300 - 400 PSI or so...

ya possible def thats why im gonna tear her down and re seal her and put new friction plates etc into her with this killer kit from TCI

Are you planning on doing the work yourself? Or does your shop do that kind of stuff?

I had problems with the front pump shaft seal on my 700 on my camaro pushing out and leaking everywhere. It was because any 700r4 manufactured before I think 1987 had a seal that was not held in place by anything. The seal from newer transmissions were secured in place by a ring on the seal. I think we just replaced the front pump with a newer one but you may want to ask someone in the know about it because I think there might be something else I can't remember about lining up the pump and case? Sorry it's been a while but maybe this will point ya in the right direction
