700r4 problems!!

Hello all,i have an 86 k5 with a 700r trans and today my wife was driving (that was the first problem) the blazer and it made a "clunk" noise when she accelerated and all of a sudden it didnt want to shift out of first gear unless you get the rpms about 2500 or so and it lost reverse,all of this happened all of a sudden with no warning,any help would be very much appreciated

NEED NEW ONE or time to Rebuild. I am n similar distress but Mine still Goes for a minute until the Fluid heats up. All my gears work so I guess its not the same lol. I hope you find the Parts you need.

oh i hope it doesnt need rebuilt,it worked to good 10 minutes before

If its still doing it sounds like it died to me.

I had a pretty similar experience with my K-5/700R4 Also while my wife was driving...

Phone call to tell me there was a loud noise followed by hi rpm before shifting.She gets home I had reverse but no 3rd gear.Had to rev high to get it to shift from 1st to 2nd and no 3rd at all. It sounded wrong and never went back to normal.


New one has about 5000 miles and doing great.
