700R4 Rebuild or buy new?

I have the monster motorsports tranny mentioned earl;ier, havent tried it yet, but I got it on some kind of ebay special, so It was 950, free freight shipping, free warranty, no core. And It has a Corvette servo, and boost valve, also came with a 1650 stall, lockup converter. The warranty does however state, "this transmission must be installed, adjusted, and maintained by a certified professional" or some crap like that, so I didnt bother to send it in.

rebuilt mine for about $500

It was in pretty good shape, but while it was out..............

I installed a Bowtie Overdrive level 3 about a year ago and love it. Their tech support is awesome too. Not one problem out of the tranny and it shifts hard!

My choice is the was to have my 700R4 rebuilt by Phoenix Transmissions of Weathford, TX.
It was built to handle the torque of our 383 and has held up for 2 yrs so far.
