Is there a way to tell if my trans has a shift kit already installed in it? the PO told me he had it rebuilt but I'm not sure if he knew what I was talking about when I asked him if it has a shift kit also. Thanx.

All a shift kit really does is change the shifting characteristics of you trans. Usually, to a firmer more crisp, feeling shift, as opposed to a gentle kind of slip into the next gear.

Floorboard the skinny pedal..... mine sounds like it aint gonna change gears. When it does, if your still pedal down it will chirp the tires and buck hard when it shifts.

Thanx, I understand what they will do for me, I just don't want to waste cash if it already has one in it. Any upgrade that I can do to it to help it last longer I'm going to do as cash allows. I am going to replace the servo and was thinking about a shift kit also if it didn't already have one. By the sounds of the last post I'm guessing it don't have one.

You still may have a shift kit. Not all shift kits are designed to jerk your neck when the shift occurs, its fairly dependant on how you set the shift kit. Purchase one and read the instructions and you'll know what im talking about. A shift kit can be set up to shift alot like stock except the shift will occur more rapidly. Just because you arent chirping tires doesnt mean you dont have one.

It sounds like Ill pretty much need to pull the valve body and check the valve springs to see if it has been done. Might as well get one that way I can set it up the way I want plus it will give me something to do.
