700R4 Shifter Arm nut

The nut the holds the "U" bracket on the tranny where the linkage hooks up. I`m hooking up my Lokar shifter on the tranny I`m using, but I don`t have the nut to install the arm. I have a 7/16th coarse threaded nut, but it doesn`t seem to be the right one. Any idea?

The nut is 10 mm x 1.5. All the hardware on a 700 is metric.
