OK the TH350 in my 73 4x4 pickup took a crap recently and with the cost of a rebuild I could pick up a 700R4 and put it in. I'll be getting the TV cable and mounting brackets from Lokar and a trans where I can find it. Also will be getting the adapter from Transdapt (?) for the 205 case. I will need to cut about 1/8" off the tailshaft of the 700R4 to mate with the 205 I have now. Also the crossmember will need to be moved but that is easy enough. Looking at a lockup kit if I get the later model but I am trying for the mechanical lockup first.

I've got alot of it covered but I have a few Q's. Is there enough difference in length to have to worry about drive shaft mods? What about mating it to a 203 for a later doubler combo?

If you already have a 350/205 then you only need the teckpac fitzall spacer (7q-35A). The 700R4 trans is 1 7/8" longer than a TH350 so driveshaft mods will be required. The total length difference should be about 3 7/8" longer if you use the spacer, otherwise you need to buy the AA short shaft for the 700R4 and it will end up 1 7/8" longer than your 350/205. Keep in mind that if you use the short shaft in the 700R4 people have reported that the front driveshaft can hit the tranny pan.
