700r4 test port?

Hi All,

I'm looking to install a transmission temp sensor on my 89 700r4. From what I read it is just supposed to screw into the test port somewhere, which is supposed to be on the drivers side.

Anyway, it's getting dark here, but I couldn't find an obvious place to screw it into. I took a couple pics in the hope that I might get pointed in the right direction.

Well, I google imaged "700r4 test port"... which was helpful. But if anyone has a pic on hand of theirs or any input for installing a temp sensor, I would appreciate it.

There is a pressure port on the drivers side just behind the "bellhousing" and above the trans shift shaft and it is 1/8" NPT. The best place for a temp sensor however is in the trans pan.

Just drill a hole in the pan... Use a drain plug washer on the sensor.
The fabric looking ones.
