As far as I know the 300 has the same bolt pattern as a 208 or 241 so adapters shouldn't be an issue, but they have 23 spline inputs vs the 27 spline. So what are the options? Anyone make new input gears for the 300? I'm sure someone could get 23 spline output for the 700R4 but transfer case gear change would be a nicer option. This is for a Jeeper friend, hes weighing going with a 700R4-205 or 700R4-300 combos. I am pushing towards the 300, I just like the cases, the gearing options and upgrades for them make them decent cases I think.

my friend has it done in his jeep. one of the best things he ever did. but sorry im no help on the spline problem because i can rember how he did it. :doah:

THanks but not a big help. It says:
Transmission disassembly is not required if you have the right TH700R4 (see, Compatibility). Our #8681812 4wd output shaft is available if necessary.

But doesn't tell you what the "right" output shaft is. THe only output shaft I know of factory for the 700R4 is the 27 spline 4x4 and the 2wd output shaft. Neither will work for a D300. When you go to the link to check compatibility, it says you have to change output shafts.

This is the 4x4 output shaft for TWO WHEEL DRIVE 700r4's
That what you convert , 2WD TRANNY TO 4WD TRANNY SHAFT .
If you have a 4x4 700 ignore this .

According to this kit # 137 , it comes with the new input for the d300 , so you only have to use a 27 spline four wheel drive 700r4

they won't sell just the input, well he said he would but he'd charge me $409, ha.

JB , makes 3 27 spline d300 input shafts . http://www.jbconversions.com/pages/products/dana300/inputgears.html

and also they have a 2 inch thick kit that retains the 700r4 output as well , clockable

KIT #10-1007

NOTES:

 1. ADAPTER THICKNESS - 2" BILLET ALUMINUM
 2. INCORPORATES A 0.75" BILLET ROTATION PLATE
 3. PROVIDES 4-POSITION CLOCKING OF THE DANA 300
 4. GRADE 8 - 12 POINT BOLTS ARE SUPPLIED IN THIS KIT
 5. A NEW INPUT GEAR IS SUPPLIED FOR THE DANA 300
 6. THE STOCK GM OUTPUT SHAFT IS RETAINED IN THE TH700R4

Advance makes on too , but couldn't find a part number for it separate from their kit . But its funny they sell a 29 spline , and the stock d300 seperately .

thanks, and on a side note, HOLY ****, JB Conversions is in Sulphur, LA. Thats the town over from where Tshy used to live. I was there, damn, wish I could have visited.

ouch, $475 for the non clockable one...
