Hey guys I have searched but havent come up with a whole lot of info sooo...I am wanting to swap in a 700r4/np205 into my 6.2 m1008 to get a better first gear and overdrive. There is a part that was mentioned on another site about a spacer that is made that goes between either the adapter and tcase, or adapter and tranny. This allows only 1/4" to be shaved off of the 700r4 output shaft, instead of having to get a new special shaft from AA. Has anybody run across a similar part, or somebody who makes it? Or does anybody have any information about bolting a 700r4 to an np205?

some might use it for shaft length. but the main reason is the 4x4 front output c/v head will hit the tranny pan in some cases. so the spacer help make that not happen.

and can you get all the stuff to make the 700r4 live and survive behind a 6.2 ?

i my self hate 700r4 but thats another story. you will need a convertor and govonor and t.v. cable system for the tranny to live behind a deisel motor.

well I just found the link, yeah I think it will hold up, a neighbor of mine, gave me the build sheet for his stg 4 bto out of his 71 ss running around 650rwhp. Getting all the parts lined up, and a friend who rebuilds trannys on the side. His stock 700r4 rebuild is still holding great after 70k miles, so i can only imagine how well it will do with all the parts I will have accumulated. And I drive like an old lady on the street, so that doesnt hurt either, lol.
