700R4 to TH400 swap

My 700R4 crapped out on me. I have a friend with a 400 ready to go. How hard is the swap? Where would I find the necessary parts and how much am I I looking at cash-wise. Pleas help, summer is half over!!!

Does the T-400 come with a transfer case????

Comes with the T-case if I want it, but I am pretty partial to my 241. I think the 400 comes with the 208 or the 205. Plus then I'd have to re-do my drive shafts too. If I do get the 400 and the T-case, will that make things easier?

Your T-case will not match up with the spline count of the TH400, TH400 uses 32 splines whereas the 700R4 uses 27 splines. You would need both tranny and T-case with the mating adapter and then have to modify driveshafts accordingly.

Need to redo the d/shafts for sure if going that route.

Check with Burblover in the Springs. He had a TH400 version 208 for sale.
