My pan is leaking like crazy I figure the last owner over tightened it and tweaked the pan, its a stock GM pan. So I want to get a new one since they are cheap. I have searched and found mixed results, so what does everyone run. I'm a little leary of a cheap Ebay chrome pan. Steel bends, Aluminum doesn't but it does cool better. Does a deep pan hang down to far? Should I order one from GM? What to get? I'm not doing boulder climbing or rock gardens where I will be draging it over **** that high up so I don't think aluminum will be an issue. Thanks guys. :D

You really think they tweaked the pan? I dont' really see how overtightening it would cause that.

I say drop the pan, inspect it, and get a GOOD quality gasket, then reinstall. Definitely worth a try, as the aftermarket ones are spendy, and it seems silly to replace teh stock one if you can make it work.

When'd you pickup the 09 bimmer?

Well, they are like $40 on ebay. I need to reseal that and the dipstick tube and get a locking stick, they are both puking. If you had seen the previous owners handy work on the rest of the truck, you would understand why I would think its tweaked. I get a drip from the front seal, but it can stay dripping!

I got the '09 back in Oct on my lease special. 328I coupe with sport package.

Nice. Manual?

Nah, the misses wanted an Auto. :p: I will get a 335 in a few years when they fall out of warranty and all need $6K in turbos....... that will be a stick. Ironcially, the Auto is faster but still no control. My VW GLI is a DSG box, two clutches, not torque converter, its manual program is an actual manual program.

Bummer. I want to drive a 335 with the manual, i've only driven the auto briefly. Those DSG boxes are nuts. Totally a new realm of auto.....totally bad ass.

But call me a old fashioned, i think i'd rather sacrifice some shifting time/speed to get to use a clutch pedal.

damn, wish an aluminum pan for my 4l80e was that cheap!
