Is there a Transmission/brake interlock in an '88 with a 700R4? I cannot seem to get my parts truck out of park.. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nope. Make sure that the steering wheel lock isn't binding and preventing the shifter from moving. If the wheel was cranked to one side when the engine was shut off then there can be a lot of tension in the column.

the linkage might be bound up. if you really need to, block the wheels and unhook the linkage and mover the selector on the tranny.
