700R4 Transmission Problem

I've got a problem with my 700R4 in my 90 Suburban. When cold, the truck has all the power it should. Once warmed up some, it accels like I am pulling a house. The problem comes and goes once warmed up. It seems to disappear when idling for a long period in or out of gear, or when cruising at a very consistent speed for a while. Those things happening don't guarantee the problem goes away though. And even when it goes away, it doesn't go away for long. TV cable is adjusted correctly, lock up works correctly, and fluid and filter changes are done when they should be. Ideas on the problem, or even tests to perform?

2) fuel injection problem

sounds like the engine is leaning out too much as it gets warm, or if the timing is computer controlled, it may be throwing it off after warm up. The TBI trucks aren't my strong point of knowledge, but I'm sure it's fuel/ignition related.
 
Forgot to put all my info in the original post. The engine and all sensors are good. Timing is where it should be, and so is fuel. Actually fuel is still a tiny bit rich, as I haven't 100% finished with the chip. The problem is definitely NOT in the engine. I believed for a while, that the engine was the problem, but after going thru everything...what is left to cause the problem would be the tranny the transfer case, or the rear end.
After reading a lot last night, I am leaning toward the stator in the torque converter. The problem being intermittent is odd, but if I take out the fact that it works sometimes, a slipping stator seems to describe my problem exactly.
 
A slipping sprag in the stator would certainly describe what you may be feeling, and so would a converter clutch that stays applied after second gear, not allowing torque multiplication in the converter. The thing about the sprag is, either it is broken or it's not, there are very few instances of intermittent slippage of this assembly but we have seen it in the past. A locked converter will kill the engine when you come to a stop so that may not be anything close to what you have going on. If you wanted to pull the converter and send it to me I can have my guy cut and inspect it to be sure it is a sprag problem. That would prove that problem conclusively:D
