So I've been working on a 1990 k5 blazer with the 350 tbi and the 700r4 transmission. When I first got the truck the shift from 1st to 2nd was way too late and I knew I needed the tv cable replaced. I went and got a new one from O'reilleys and watched the 1a auto tutorial and replaced it myself exactly as directed. It worked great for a while no problems or anyone but I took it for a test drive here a while back and it wouldnt go into second. Popped the hood and the cable had become detached, put it back on took it for another drive and it switched into second but on the way back home it popped off again. Went and got a new one, put it in, and now it will break the plastic snap before throttle even reaches fully open, it's acting like the cable is way too tight for it even with the cable adjustment all the way out. I could really use some help with this as there's no way I could affor a new transmission let alone taking it to a shop and if it's just something stupid I'm gonna need some pointers because I was up until the early AM's trying to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated

The fluid on the dip stick doesn't seem burnt and it's not glittery, does that mean anything? Thanks.
