I have found several posts similar to this but I'm trying to narrow it down.
I am running a 700r4 with 35" BFG M/T in my 91 Blazer. I am about to do a 14B swap in the rear and I am wondering what other people are running as far as gear ratio and what rpm you have going 60 down the highway. My Blazer is my dd. What gear would you suggest? I am kinda hung between 4.56 and 4.10. Either one will be fine on the trail because I have a 241. I hate to even re-gear my ft 10 bolt, but the cheap D60 has eluded me so far.

I used to hav a 86 Blazer with 700 and 4.56's with 35" tires. It was fine, I think its the way to go. Its maybe 200 RPM's more than stock. I liked the hole shot with the 4.56's and lower 1st gear of the 700 tranny. If you didnt do highway driving or it wasnt a daily driver you could go 4.88. Tho that may be a bit much for alot of highway use. Go with the 4.56!!! A guy once told me when picking gears go one up from what you think you should use. So far thats worked for me.

I now have 4.10's with 35's in my K20. Tho it just has a TH350. Its OK now. Tho I see 4.88's and maybe some 38-40 inch tires in the future.
:wink1:

i have 4.56s now... going to 5.13s.

I run 4.56's with 35's and a 700r4. For freeway/highway cruising it's great, but the stock little smallblock would like something a little deeper on the streets when in OD

I run 1 tons with 4.56 gears and 35" BFGs on my K5 with 700R4 and 241. Very nice low (aka "poor boys doubler") AND decent highway speed/rpm with good acceleration. I have NO intentions of changing a thing in that area…

i currently have 373s and 35s but im in the process of going to 5.13s. its my dd, but i dont really do any highway driving. we'll see how it goes :D

Thanks everyone. I will be going with the 4.56. Now, back to the search for the cheap D60.
