700r4 weirdness

Ok, I got the filter thing figured out. I have a deep pan from Monster and they didnt send a filter extension or anything (yet another reason I will never buy from them again). I'll probably just get the B&M filter extension to take care of that.

Can anyone comment on the piece portruding from the valve body? I dont wanna bolt anything back together unless thats good.

Looked up a couple 700r4 valve body images on the net and you can see this part protruding in other pictures. I can rotate it 10-15 degrees and push it in slightly (not even close to flush) and I can't pull it out any further so I am going to assume its good like that unless someone tells me otherwise.

I have a new stock depth aluminum pan coming so that should take care of the filter issue and hopefully fix this up. Will report back tomorrow night if the pan gets here.

That is normal protrusion for that valve. Make sure the seal in the pump is snug fir on the filter neck when you go back together with all of it. I am not a fan of the deep pans, stock depth keeps fluid where it belongs especially off road.

Thanks Greg! I did a bunch of reading yesterday and most people seem to think stock depth is the way to go as well so Im happy to revert.

Thanks again for the help.

Just to fully close the loop on this:

New pan and filter are on and she's back to shifting perfectly!
