700r4 with a 203 t-case?

Hi all I was wondering if gm ever put the 203 behind the 700r4? I am just wondering this because I noticed that my 84 jimmy is setup this way. Is this normal or did somone throw this together?

gm never put a 203 behind a 700r4. one of the ways to do is use a AA output shaft with the factory th350/np203 adapter.
