I'm thinking about getting a shift kit for my 700R4, but i heard somewhere that you shouldn't put one in this tranny. Does anyone have one in it and have any problems? Thanks

Ive heard shift kits are bad for several reasons, mostly because they destroy 700s ,every 700r ive had shifts great strong pulls and good lock up.I have read that the only upgrade needed is thicker plates between 3rd and 4th clutch packs. do not add clutches this means thinner plates which the plates are what wear out not the clutches.corvette servos are bad unless you have a corvette valve assembly. Also mine have all been post 88 trannys one has 224,000 miles so theyre not always a bad thing .Also these are T350 trans with a 4th gear thats all it is so dont expect T400 reliability ,700rs dont like big blocks or blowers neither do T350s if you need a T400 buy a T400 .
