I know the bellhousings are the same for 350 and 4.3L but is the whole tranny the same? I realize the output would be different cause of the different tcase. But in whole is it the same tranny? The tranny came out of a 1989 S15 Jimmy and wanting to know if it could be used for a 1987 K5?

I can't remember exactly but there are i think less clutches in the clutch packs on the 4.3 trans. It will work with a V/8 however.

as long as both are 4wd or both 2wd, the output shafts are the same length.

its been a while but the 4.3 trannys do have 1-2 less clutch discs for the 3-4 clutch pack. everything else is the same.
